Packing Up, Flying Out
Good evening FBC family,
Our team is spending their last night in camp as this update posts. They're probably sleeping well because their yesterday was one of hiking and sightseeing in the village and above the village.
I think there are three men on the mountain trail in this picture...
Still climbing...
From the top looking back down...
"The mountain in the background, we hiked all the way to the top today. 10 miles. We climbed from 5900 feet at camp, to 8000 feet. It was not easy."
There was a great sense of victory when arriving at the summit it seems.
(This is what I received when I requested exciting pictures,
this, and the bloody sock picture from Day 1!)
When they returned to camp...
"Just took down showers and packed them up. Gave balls to local kids, layering up and starting a fire. Getting windy and cold."
Look who ended up with a ball!
As the team ended their day yesterday...
We prayed for all of the [our] families in devotions. Eric led devotions and prayed. New mercies tomorrow!
When our men awake in a few hours, they'll finish breaking camp and, Lord willing, will be picked up by the helicopter(s) at 7:30 am their time (8:30 pm tonight, our time) and delivered to Kathmandu.
Their prayer needs for tonight/tomorrow:
- That the helicopters come.
- Safe travel back to Kathmandu
- That we'd be an encouragement to our hosts
- For good rest
- That the region we are leaving will bear fruit from our time there
- That pastor's would be encouraged, churches strengthened
- That many many more would come to Christ
Thank you church family for your faithfulness and your care. Your work from home has powered the trip abroad.
Let your work be shown to your servants, and your glorious power to their children. Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! Psalm 90:16-17
