One of the reasons FBC Wheeling exists is "to connect people to God's family." We believe that when people are called to believe, they are also called to belong.
Practically this happens best through small groups. Small groups put a face to the church. This is where our vision of 'Loving God, Loving People, Making Disciples' becomes personal.
Currently, we offer two types of small groups at FBC Wheeling.
- Equipping Hour Classes- meet at FBC Wheeling on Sunday mornings.
Four times a year, we offer 12-13 week classes that are designed to equip you for life and ministry. In these classes, you will be able to learn from the many teachers in our midst as we work through books of the Bible as well as cover various topics.
Summer 2017 (June-August) classes include:
THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT w/ Rick Harris (Fellowship Hall)
This is one of the most frequently misunderstood passages of scripture. The Sermon on the Mount is not a code of ethics or morals; it is a description of what Christians are meant to be. Join us as we learn how to live like Christ in the modern world.
EVANGELISM w/ Matt Cummins (3rd Floor)
Evangelism is more than a program. Picture a church where evangelism is simply a part of the culture — where we encourage one another to make evangelism an ongoing way of life. Join us for this study as we learn how to communicate the gospel and make evangelism a part of our everyday life.
AGAPE CLASS (3rd Floor)
More than just a class, Agape is a family that digs into God’s Word, prays earnestly for the church family, and enjoys singing together each week. We are currently working verse-by-verse through the book of Colossians. We’d love for you to join us!
- Community Groups - Currently on break during the summer. Groups will resume in the Fall. Stay tuned for more information!
These groups meet in homes throughout the Wheeling area on Sundays at 6:00 pm. Currently, we have groups gathering in five different neighborhoods across the valley.
Groups can be found in East Ohio, Elm Grove, National Rd. (right by the church), Oglebay, and Woodsdale.
Our community groups are intentional families of believers that provide a place to regularly live out the “one-anothers” in Scripture as we discuss God’s Word, eat meals, serve our neighbors, and walk through life together.
If you would like any information on any of our different small group opportunities, please contact us at the church office.
