Doing What We Are Created to Do (Growing Chicks Part 11 - Finale)
What fun it's been to follow Michele's baby chicks all the way from their earliest days all the way to adulthood...or should we say, grown chickenhood.
In the early spring the chicks were a cute reminder of new life.

In late spring they reminded us of gangly teenagers keeping warm during a cold snap.

By early summer they were beginning to look like what they'd eventually become.

Now, mid-summer they have grown up and are graduating to the general population with the rest of the residents of Michele's luxury chicken coop who made sure to take a proper dust bath in time to greet the new girls.
The chickens looking around their new digs before the rest of the gang enters.

Meeting their new roommates. Pecking order activities underway!

Michele moved the FBC Six just in time because look what she found shortly after the big move...

The small egg at the top is the first egg from the chicks that we've been following since spring.
That first small egg is a simple, but wonderful reminder that God's creatures are made to function according to His design. It's a beautiful thing to behold.
The same is true in a Church body.
How wonderful is it when we, ourselves get to operate in our own callings?
I have gotten to watch many of you operate in your callings and giftedness over the years and it's a glorious thing to see as you
- host gatherings and make each guest feel like family
- tend to children who need help seeing more clearly
- teach adults the truths of the Scriptures
- care for the sick or lonely
- give rides to and from appointments
- grow and share produce from gardens
- prepare and teach Bible lessons to wiggly children
- take meals to families who need a bit of easy in their world
- make nervous medical patients more at ease
- take good care of chickens who provide eggs
- clean up messes left behind by ALL and SUNDRY
- change diapers and wipe tears
- tune instruments and voices to sing
Thank you LORD for your Church body and for all of those who You've created to function in such a beautiful way!
Thank you Michele for taking and sending all of the chicken pictures and answering all of the questions and not laughing too hard at this city lady who hasn't a clue about the workings of a luxury chicken farm.
