Look at 'em Grow (Growing Chicks part 4)
Let's start episode 4 with a class picture...this was taken last Wednesday when our 6 chicks were 4 weeks old. It appears that the photographer might have asked them to make "serious faces" for the shot.
The picture below was taken just before a big move from inside to the garage. Please don't miss our lookout chick ever perched on not-the-tv.

Our chicks are pictured below after their big move. The plan for the day (Good Friday) was to get some real sunshine on the patio!

Michele is ever patient as she teaches me the chick basics. I often wish I could raise chickens in my own yard but my pastor is not in support of this, knowing that it wouldn't be long before I'd get distracted reading about the chickens and forget to care for the actual ones! So I will continue to watch Michele and learn vicariously.
Here are a few facts:
Breed: ISA Browns (named for the French organization that developeed the breed)
ISA Browns are known for being excellent egg layers as well as for their friendliness.
At this point in their development, these girls are focused on eating, growing, and figuring out who gets the best perch...but we already spotted that one!
Tune in next week for more!
