The Path of Pressure, Prayer, and Perseverance

Big Idea	Pressure does not have to imprison God’s people; through prayer and the Word, God gives grace to trust His promises, speak with courage, walk in freedom, and persevere.
Summary	In this sixth stanza of Psalm 119, the psalmist is under pressure from opposition, taunting, and reproach. Yet the pressure doesn't drive him away from God; it drives him to God in prayer. He asks for a fresh experience of God’s steadfast love and deliverance, trusts in God’s promises, and pleads that the word of truth would not be taken from his mouth. Then, in response, he pledges renewed resolve: he will keep God’s law, walk in freedom, speak God’s testimonies without shame, delight in God’s commandments, lift his hands in worship, and meditate on God’s statutes.
